Forest Devices, Inc. Snags Third Runner Up in Cisco Global Problem Solver Challenge

PITTSBURGH - (July 28, 2017) This is the question Cisco's Global Problem Solver Challenge beckoned, calling all students and recent grads to showcase their solutions for a chance at $300K in prizes. Forest Devices. answered the call and outlasted tough competition to become one of fifteen finalists.  When the dust settled, Cisco awarded Forest Devices Third Runner-Up, a finish that entailed a prize of $10k.

Forest Devices is a Pittsburgh-based medical device startup company that is developing AlphaStroke. Acting like an EKG for the brain, AlphaStroke will help pre-hospital providers determine if their patients are having a stroke. Stroke is the most debilitating disease in the world, and the mission of Forest Devices is to reduce that disability by getting stroke patients to the treatment they need faster.
